WinXP still faster then Vista
Well after my switch back to WinXP I finally finished loading all my programs. So far WinXP is still loading and running faster then Vista. I still have all the pleasant visuals I had when I was on Vista, since I actually started getting used to it I actually had to hunt the some of programs down to mimic vista, like Windows Sidebar and Visual Tooltip. I already had topdesk to do the 3D flip and WindowBlinds for the transparent borders/taskbar so I was already enjoying those before the Vista switch.
There are a few things that I haven't been able to do on WinXP though. Like having Games and My Videos on the right side of the start menu(In the top portion not under the run button). I know about ViStart but I hate the Vista StartMenu. I was able to get the options to show up in the Properties>Customize>Advanced Portion of the StartMenu. But I can't get it to show up on the actual StartMenu.
Besides that one little issue I am pretty content with WinXP and I am pretty sure I wont do the switch to Vista until there is some big performance improvement on it. Considering I am peaking at 16% CPU Usage and 40% RAM Usage with Winamp running and all the other little apps running with Firefox3 open with 3 tabs. If I was on Vista my CPU usage would have been jumping all over the place and my RAM would be around 60%.
